Why We Love Turquoise

About: Turquoise is a highly valuable semi-precious stone that is a hydrous phosphate of copper and aluminium. It has been prized for thousands of years across the world from ancient Iran to the Egyptian pharaohs to the indigenous peoples of the United States.

The name turquoise comes from an old French word for “Turkish” because the mineral was first brought to Europe from Turkey.   The Iranians called it “phirouzeh” and the Aztecs knew it as “teoxihuitl”.

Real Turquoise jewellery

Metaphysical: Turquoise is one of the most sought after and powerful stones to work with because it represents and enhances strength, psychic sensitivity, and a connection to the spirit world. It also attunes itself to and enhances luck, love, protection, and healing.

Unlike many stones that one works with, one must attune to the vibration and frequency of the turquoise instead of the turquoise attuning to your frequency. Like the magnetic true north this stone is energetically true.

No matter where your energy is it can help pull you back towards a true expression. It can bring clarity to murky thoughts and energies with this energetically grounding stance.

Why you should where this stone: We use this powerful stone in our much sought after limited edition Peacock Lace and the Sleeping Beauty (made from turquoise and sterling silver). Our turquoise is rare, all natural, and untreated. Its vibrant blue hue is stunning and beautiful.

These laces support the throat chakra as well as the heart chakra centres. When it becomes difficult to speak ones truth or be in one’s own authentic space, when it is hard to hold your own boundaries of self love and compassion in the face of another’s priorities pulling on our own, these laces can keep you centred and protect you from the exterior forces that may alternately attack and strip our energy centres.
